BEREAVEMENT AWARENESS FOR
HEALTH SERVICE STAFF

This two day course is for anyone working within an NHS Trust who wishes to develop their awareness of issues relating to bereavement and loss.

The course explores:

• Loss and bereavement as part of life
• Understanding grief
• Death and bereavement through the eyes of a child
• Basic listening skills
• Untimely deaths and disasters
• Coping through ceremonies and rituals
• Social and cultural attitudes to death and bereavement
• Supporting ourselves and others
