Honorary Treasurer's Report

This is my first report as Honorary TREASURER. I joined Brent Bereavement Services in 1993 (one of Valerie's old girls) as a volunteer but until this year I had no idea how much hard work goes on behind the scenes in Fund Raising, Planning and Budgeting.

It has been a successful year. We are grateful to all our Benefactors and Funders for their support without which we could not provide the valuable service which has continued to expand since being founded in 1989.

We have been very lucky in finding an excellent local accountancy firm, Goldwins, who work with us to keep our accounts clear and well prepared. Our special thanks go to Anthony Epton who produces the year-end accounts in a speedy and highly efficient manner.

As we have no guaranteed funding the task of keeping the services viable financially is an ongoing struggle. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Fundraising Sub-committee for their hard work.

My sincere thanks to the following organisations for their support and all other personal donors:

(in alphabetical order)

Brent Council

Brent and Harrow Health Authority

Bridge House Estates Trust Fund

Capital Radio - Help a London Child

Edward Harvist Trust

John Lewis Partnership

The King's Fund
